Andries Botha is the author of Behold — The Kingdom of God is at Hand, the first volume of a four-book biblical-study series anchored on a single central revelation: that the body of the crucified Christ can be laid across the floor plan of the Tabernacle of Moses, with each piece of furniture corresponding precisely to a part of His body.

He is not a trained theologian. He describes himself as a long-time student of Scripture who has spent many years in church Bible studies and small-group settings across the Vaal Triangle, slowly working out the connections that hold the central diagram of the book together. The book is written in the patient, plain-spoken voice he has used in living rooms and church halls for years.

The wider project

Beyond the writing of the books themselves, the author is actively building the wider platform that the series is designed to inhabit. The second volume of the series is fully drafted and the third and fourth volumes are outlined in detail. A companion interactive Bible-study application is in active development, with the central diagram, the custom-trained study assistant, and the structured study guides as its three core capabilities.

The project is rooted in the conviction that South African Christian readers deserve serious, biblically anchored, locally rooted books and tools — not imported devotionals that assume an American or British context. Books and an application that take both the Old and New Testaments seriously, that are accessible to the man in the pew, and that are structurally suited to the small-group culture of the South African church.

Where it is going

The first book is currently with proofreaders, and a manuscript proposal is being prepared for one of the largest Christian publishers in South Africa. The author is open to discussion about an Afrikaans edition of the books, and is committed to seeing the books and the application through to completion as a single integrated body of work.

"I am not trying to be a famous author. I just want to put something into the hands of ordinary believers that I myself wish someone had put into mine twenty years ago."
